What all I need to start using Trufire?

You don’t need anything special. All you would need is the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

How do I install Trufire ? (First phase of installation)

Step1: All you have to do is download TrufireVideoSearch.xpi from  http://truveoonmozilla.googlepages.com/TrufireVideoSearch.xpi

Step 2: Go to Mozilla firefox installation. (In our case, we have installed it in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\). Navigate to the extensions folder which is being used for your login. (For us it is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. Don’t worry if you couldn’t figure it out, a few trial and errors can help you in identifying the right folder)

Step 3: Copy the TrufireVideoSearch.xpi into the extensions folder.

That’s all now you can start using it in a few seconds!

What else? (Second phase of installation)

You are almost ready to go now!

1.      Now open Mozilla Firefox browser.

2.      You will see the below screen. Click on Install Now button on the below screen.

(Generally this won’t occur but if you don’t see this screen that implies, you haven’t copied the TrufireVideoSearch.xpi file into the right extensions folder. Check if you see any other folder named extensions somewhere around. Close all the firefox browsers, copy the xpi into the identified extensions folder and open the mozilla firefox again to see this screen. A few trial and errors will get you to this screen.)

3.      Once installation completes, the browser window opens up.

4.    Now click on View àSidebar as shown in the below screen. You should see Trufire Video Search menu option.

(Don’t worry if you don’t see the menu item. Close all the mozilla windows and again copy the xpi file into extensions folder and perform the step 1 and step 2 again.)

I see the menu option what next?

Congrats! You are ready to start using it.

1. Just click on that Trufire Video Search menu item (seen in the above screen) to see the below Trufire Video Search screen.

2. Without doing any further actions, click on Search button to perform sanity check on whether it is working for you.

3. Give it a few seconds for the search window to get populated with some results as shown below.

(If you don’t see any results populated even after a few seconds, check whether your Internet connection is active. If things are fine, then refer trouble-shooting section, which will help you)

Searching for Videos and playing them

1. On the Trufire sidebar, you see two buttons at the start of the screen with signs -- and ++. They can be used to resize the Trufire video screen height.

2. Search Text text box is the area where you can type in your keywords and click on Search button to search for videos

3. The video search results appear in a scrollable window. The left side shows an image attached to the video and the right side shows the video’s title and the description.

4. You can click on the image to play a video.

Ensure that you have resized the Trufire video screen using the ++ button to see the video or else you would hear the sound but you don’t see it playing ;)

Trouble shooting

1. Press Alt + Ctrl + Delete and select Mozilla application as in the below screen

2. Perform right click and choose Go to Process. You will see as below

3. Click on End Process

4. It will show a warning as below. Click on Yes

5. Now open the Mozilla Firefox again and you would see a message as below. Click on Start New Session and things would start working again.
